• you have suffered an injury that is too small for a lawyer to take your case,

• you are owed money under $35,000;

• somebody has sued you for less than $35,000; or

• somebody is in possession of property belonging to you that is valued under $35,000

The types of claims commonly addressed in BC Provincial Court (Small Claims Court) are as follows:

1. debt or damages between $5,001 and $35,000;

2. recovery of personal property or opposing claims to person property; and

3. performance of agreements about personal property or services.

1. debt or damages under $5,000;

2. claims about the non-consensual sharing of intimate images;

3. Many disputes about vehicle accidents; and

4. Strata disputes, societies and cooperative associations.
